Despite her over 30 years in the comics, Mystique had never been one of the most popular mutants or members of the X-Men. That honor would have easily fallen to characters like Wolverine, Magneto, or Jean Grey, just to name a few. Mystique, also known by her birth name Raven Darkholme, made her debut back in Ms.
Mystique born Raven Darkholme was a mutant with the ability to shapeshift into anyone. Little is known of Raven's life prior to her break-in into the Xavier Mansion. As a little child, her mutation was so abnormal to others that she feared going to school. Additionally, her parents, also fearful of her mutation, had at one point tried to kill her.
